Introduction
Saturday, October 31st, French bantamweight prospect Aboubakar Younousov will be in action for the Ares FC, where he will be looking continue his winning ways against Tyson Nam. He will be looking for another win, as Younousov looks to inch close to a UFC contract. He represents MMA Factory, a solid camp in MMA. Let’s take a closer look at this prospect as this week’s “Prospect Spotlight.”
Strengths
Striking: Younousov is not only a powerful striker, but he’s very technical and flashy. The man has multiple spinning back elbow knockouts, which are definitely the highlights on his reel, but he does have stone hands. He’s precise and violent with his hands, adding stout low kicks and other techniques to round off his striking. He has three knockouts in eight pro fights, but had multiple knockouts as an amateur as well.
Wrestling: Having Russian blood, it’s no shock that Younousov has good offensive and defensive wrestling. He has a quick shot when need be, closing the distance quickly and scoring takedowns. He also has great hips on the defensive, sprawling and working his way out of a potential takedown with ease.
Needs Improvement
Unknown: This is the highest compliment. I have not seen any weakness in Younousov’s game and that’s a scary thought.
Outlook
UFC Title Challenger: Younousov is an incredibly talented prospect and I guy I think can challenge for a UFC title at the very least. He’s just 26 and a guy that is a potential UFC champion just given that he’s so well-rounded and tough. Bantamweight is certainly a shark tank, but I think it’s a stormy sea he can navigate. He gets UFC veteran Tyson Nam this weekend in what should be his intro to the UFC.
